Destination Zambia 2016

The Tourism Council of Zambia (TCZ) and the Zambia Tourism Board (ZTB) have given their go-ahead for a new edition of Destination Zambia. The new magazine will launch early next year and will be available at major travel trade shows soon after.

Port de Djibouti

Port de Djibouti SA has appointed Land & Marine to produce a new publication. Strategically located at the entrance to the Red Sea, Port de Djibouti is a major transhipment hub and also handles 100 per cent of Ethiopia’s seaborne trade. Elsewhere in the country, a series of impressive new ports and terminals are being constructed. Djibouti is a new area of operation for Land & Marine and nation/territory number 56.

Coming soon part 2

It’s a busy time at Land & Marine and in addition to the news post of 16 September, we can also confirm that the Mount Kenya Tourism Guide (published on behalf of the Mount Kenya Tourism Circuit Association) and the 2016 KAHC Kenya Hotel Guide will both be completed in October and launched at WTM in London. Land & Marine remains totally committed to promoting Kenya’s resurgent tourism and hospitality sectors.

At the same time, the second issue of “Explorer” – Auric Air’s in-flight magazine – will also be published. Auric Air is headquartered in Mwanza and serves around 30 destinations in mainland Tanzania and the islands of the Zanzibar archipelago.

Land & Marine will be attending the Caribbean Shipping Association AGM in Cartagena, Colombia 19-21 October.

Travelsmart Issue 12 onboard soon

Travelsmart (issue 12) is now at the printers and should be on board all fastjet flights from around 1 October. The magazine’s e-version is embargoed by the airline and will only be available to view once the hard copies are on board aircraft.

Mada Hotels renews contract

Nairobi-headquartered Mada Hotels has today renewed its publishing contract with Land & Marine for the production of the group’s in-room and corporate magazine “Reflections”. Fast-growing Mada Hotels owns a number of hotels, camps and resorts in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda with new properties under construction in both Uganda and Zanzibar. The group also has three highly successful hot-air ballooning operations based in the Masai Mara, Tarangire and the Serengeti.

Sudan Sea Ports Corporation

Sudan’s Sea Ports Corporation has chosen Land & Marine to produce its first-ever ports publication. Sudan is the 55th country or territory in which Land & Marine has worked since its formation.

New Kenya Safari Operators Guide

The Kenya Association of Tour Operators (KATO) has re-appointed Land & Marine to produce a new edition of the Kenya Safari Operators Guide. The new publication will launch at ITB in Berlin March 2016 and this agreement reflects the strong recovery of the Kenya’s safari sector over the last few months.

Travelsmart issue 12

Issue 12 of Travelsmart magazine will be published on or around 1 October. Look out for the new issue soon on all Fastjet flights.

Jubba Airways merger

As Jubba Airways is merging with Daallo Airlines (which operates from its hub in Djibouti), Land & Marine is ending the production of the Somali-English in-flight magazine “Cirka”.
